    Hi Lili,

    thanks for your presentation.

I was wondering at what price do we get multi-hop D2D communications, is there some signal overhead, and what if the relaying UE wants to transmit at this moment, is it forced in relaying mode still?

    Thanks in advance,
    Elena.

    Hi,

In the simulation, we explicitly take into account control signaling overhead for all transmissions in the network assuming that the frame structure and control/data channel design is the same as LTE. Therefore, the reported throughput number already include the impact of control signaling.

In the case a UE wants to transmit, it has to obey the applied communication protocol, i.e., it cannot override an existing operation mode but can transit a new packet as soon as it is allocated new resources for that purpose.

    Thanks.
